DESCRIPTION:
- It is a medium sized endemic tree.
- The leaves are thickly coriaceous, dark green, base rounded, mid rib stout prominent, veins few, indistinct, very slender, and nery beautiful in appearance, short petiole.
- The flowers are sports beautiful rounded buds, which blooms into four-petaled white flower. The petals are wide and rounded, and there is a mass of yellow stamens at the center. Flowers are extremely fragrant.
- The fruit is a indehiscent drupe, 1 in long, obliquely ovoid, and 1-seeded, leathery and pulpy.

PLANT PART USED: Bark, Root, Flower buds, Seeds.
USES:
- It is used as a mild stimulant, carminative and astringent to treat dyspepsia and hemorrhoids.
- The roots are used as a medicine to treat partial headaches.
- It has anti-oxidant and hepatoprotective activities.
- The seed oil in a small dose is used to treat dysuria and urinary tract infections with pus formation.
- It is used to treat gallstone pain, prostate inflammation and pain, and malaria.
PROPAGATION: It can be propagated by seeds and vegetative cuttings.
